Recess fosters an environment of uninhibited creativity for its clients throughout the design and construction process. We reflect our clients’ unique lifestyles and personalities by designing homes that facilitate the essential functions of their daily life in an intuitive way. We believe that a richness of detail and individual expression are possible while designing and building in an economical manner and advocate for variety within Nashville’s built environment.

Jamie Sinz and Timon Covelli have twenty-seven years of combined experience practicing architecture in Oregon, California, and Tennessee, primarily in residential, hospitality, and higher education design. They met in Nashville in 2018 and established Recess in 2023 to focus on the city’s evolving residential fabric.
